MELBOURNE CUP

For many years we have been promising ourselves we would go to the Melbourne Cup. There have been many discussions on how we would do, top class by plane, hotel and of course an expensive Marque.... In the end we have decided we would take the "Van" we found a caravan park in the heart of Melbourne and then it was a decision on the Marque.  It is awfully hard to justify thousands of dollars just for one day at the races so in the end we decided on the "Precinct" an allocated area where we can buy food and drinks and place bets as well as see big screens with the extra option of a seat in the Lawn stand to watch the races.  Even this was pricey $650 for the two of us but I think it will be worth it :-)   So all booked and we are off to the Cup on 1st November taking our time to get to Melbourne and then on Wednesday after the cup taking our time to travel home up the coast and see a few sites.  Watch this space for more stories of our journey.
